"Alright, but I should go and-" And suddenly, his key gave a massive glow, "Huh?!" Before it shot a white laser onto the lava pool. Madly, the lava boiled, with such rage. Kal-El was about to pull the African duo away, until the lava exploded, and lifted a towering blast, no thinner than a stone pillar. The lava was actually pushing up a stone pillar that carried glowing crystals, Kal-El knew too well. Nested on the crystal was a stone alter, with many hieroglyphics on the corners, just like the key. "...sometimes, even my own people amaze me."

Storm couldn't help but gaze up at this massive altar in awe. "...my..."

He too was rather impressed. Even with his trained foresight, he didn't think it could be under the lava itself.

Luckily, there was a molten walkway, over the pit, to lead the others to the crystal nest. But Kal-El simply hovered toward it, examining it. It looked just like the one in the Kawatche Caves, in Smallville...only this one was on a nest of the crystals found in his fortress. And like that one, this one had a slot for his key...which he inserted it into it. Without warning, a blast of light erupted before him, unleashing a snowy storm. Glancing back at the two with a smile, "Where we're going, you'll be thankful of its weather, compared to here."

While she could float up like Kal-El, Storm walked up the walkway whilst merely chuckling at his remark. "To me, weather is no real issue." she mused.

"Heh." Even he chuckled at that remark, as he stepped up too. Wondering where this may lead exactly.

Plucking the key out of the alter, the light reached over them in a blinding aura. And when it faded, they were gone, as well as the portal. With the alter all alone, it sunk back into the lava.
