He hated being here. He hated being away from Gotham, leaving it unprotected. The only one left there is the Huntress, but her methods always left Bruce Wayne in question. Ever since the death of Jason Todd, Bruce's bond with his...'kids'...dwindled because he feared for their safety. Sure he somewhat patched things up with Barbara, but she still hangs around with the new JSA, more, and Dick Grayson is still missing. So here he was, in New York, keeping up with appearances, by talking with board members in a quaint cafe. Thankfully he just finished, giving him time to come up with ways to find Blade. He can't do anything, as Batman, during the daytime. Black tends to stand-out in broad daylight, after all.

Can't believe how many times he got involve with these super battles, most don't even involved vampires or even a supernatural monster. But, Dracula seems active here, or at least the area. What he's up, he has to find out.

Though he wouldn't be the only one that Bruce would have the chance to meet... ...as she just left some parlor, letting a sigh escape her lips as she pulled her top hat off her head. "Another gig..." she remarked, before she began walking down the street. Right now, she didn't have anything else planned for the evening, aside from getting herself home.

Well, what a surprise...the target he was looking for was just across the street. Problem is that he can't meet him as Bruce Wayne; raises too much questions. So... ...aiming, from under the table, he shot a tiny tracer, which quickly flew between traffic, and people, and neatly right on the back of Blade's collar. Ollie, eat your heart out. And the surprises just keeps coming, from the ghost of his past. A young woman was just nearby; the daughter of one of his mentors. He was a student of Giovanni Zatara to learn about escape artistry, for some time, and became close friends with Zantanna. She had a crush on him, but Bruce only saw her as a little sister. Never the less... "Zatanna?" he called, getting up from his seat.

The moment she heard that voice, she came to a halt, her gaze moving to where it came from. "...Bruce? Bruce Wayne?" A smile crept across her lips as she made her way towards him. "It's a small world, huh? I haven't seen you in years." she spoke as she approached him.

"Hmm?" He swore he though he felt something on his neck. Must have been a bug.

"Likewise." he smirked. "So what are you doing here in this humble town?"

"Oh, just working." Placing her top hat on her head, she gave Bruce a coy smile. "Zatanna Zatara's magic show. I just finished today's set, if you were curious."

Smirking, he nodded, "Your father would be proud."

"I sure hope so." she mused, as she removed her hat again. "How about you then, Bruce? Just off doing business here in town?"

"Well you know how board members are; they fear I'm not putting much effort in the New York division. A new company, called TCRI, is a big competition in the science department. It's getting them edgy." And Bruce was too, for different reasons. This TCRI seemed to come out of nowhere, barely any announcements about their arrival, and no one ever met their board members. That was something he planned on looking into, as soon as he's done with Dracula.

"Ah, right, business as usual." With a light hum, she just adjusted her hat a touch. "...I doubt my dad's escape artist tricks are gonna help much if that kinda situation escalates." she mused jokingly.

"I suppose not," he shrugged with a mellow shrug. "So, if you have time, care for lunch, for old times sake?"

"...that sounds lovely." she hummed with a smile. "I don't have another gig until 9, so I got time, yeah."

"I know a charming old diner, just a couple of blocks here. High expensive food can be over-exaggerated." he smirked, walking with her, like the arrogant playboy he is... ...or pretend he is.
