Barbara Dugan: Mother - Courtney loves and looks up to her mother with a lot of respect. She worked hard taking care of Courtney in the wake of losing her husband and Courtney's father. Still being a typical teen, Courtney does hold the regular grudges towards her mom, curfew and that type of thing.
Patrick "Pat" Dugan: Step father - Courtney bares a deep grudge towards Pat. While she says its because she hated moving from Los Angeles to the middle of nowhere, but in reality she is believes he moved too quickly with her mother and will end up hurting her. She feels he's pushing his rules and household onto her and her mother and worries he wants her to completely forget her dad.
Mike Dugan: Step Brother - an annoying 13 year old, Courtney is aggravated she now has to share a home with this bratty awful little jerk. He's annoying and aggravating and she fights with him constantly, however, she does respect his sense of right and wrong as he often stands up for the little guy at school.

A talented gymnast and kick boxer, Courtney is fast, agile, flexible, and throws a hell of a punch and kick. She loves working out so sparring is a normal occurrence for her, easily taking on opponents twice her size and weight.
Her belt is capable of creating hot bright bursts of light called star blasts. These blasts are capable of burning and temporarily blinding opponents.
When she receives the staff she gains powers including rapid flight, levitation of objects, and energy manipulation. The staff absorbs stellar energy, which can then be manipulated into defensive force fields, and offensive energy blasts of incredible power. Courtney can use both powers at once to protect herself from atmospheric damage in high velocity flight.
The staff also attunes to an appropriate user. Once attuned, the user can call the staff telepathically, though this seems to be because of the staff and not the user.
Weaknesses:
Without her staff Courtney is fairly easily defeated by stronger or faster opponents. She has no powers of her own.
She also has a bad tendency of letting her emotions overrule her generally good judgement.
Personality:
Courtney comes across as a shallow, spoiled rotten, self absorbed, entitled brat. Shes rude and often makes cutting remarks towards people who make her mad.
In reality, Courtney feels very vulnerable. Having only lost her father two years ago, Courtney built a wall of snide and cutting remarks to keep everyone around her at arms length. Courtney is terrified of losing the people she loves, so to her the logical thing is to keep those she loves at a minimum.
Fearful of her mother losing another man she loves, Courtney pushes Pat to his limit. She tells him she dislikes him for making them move, when in reality she fears her mother being hurt and him trying to force his way into her fathers place in her heart.

A year later, her mother was tired of being alone and accepted a date offer with Pat Dugan, a well acclaimed mechanical engineer. They hit it off, both being single parents and began to see each other regularly.
Courtney hated him. She did everything she could to drive him away. It didn't work.
Pat fell in love with Barbara and Courtney, and asked Barbara to marry him. She accepted. They married the next summer and, when pat was offered a better job in Nebraska, her uprooted the family and moved them across the country.
Recently, after a fight, Courtney found that Pat was once known as Stripesy, a superhero partner to the Star Spangled kid. Apparently he didn't want her to know, so what better way to piss him off... Than taking the belt he made and becoming her own hero?
