Name(s):
Kurt Wagner
Nicknames:
Nightcrawler, Elf, Blue, Fuzzy
Age:
16
Species:
Human/Mutant
Gender:
M
Alignment:
Good
Residence:
Formerly X Mansion/ Currently-squatting in New York
Personal Relationships (Optional):
Mystique- Kurt's Biological mother, Kurt holds a complicated relationship with her. He longs to know her better, know the reason she abandoned him, and at the same time despises her for her callous treatment of others, as well as confusion as to why she keeps switching between wanting to be in his life and pushing him away.
Rogue- Before they knew Mystique was Kurt's mother, Kurt and Rogue quickly developed a sibling relationship very much like those of siblings raised together. He loved messing with her and was there for her if she needed an ear to bend, though this wasn't often. In return he was given the same from Rogue, her being one of the few he mentions his fears and worries to.
Kitty Pryde: a former crush of Kurt's, Kitty's bright and bubbly personality proved her a great friend and confidant. While he no longer holds a torch for her, he is very protective of her.
Logan: While the older man's tough exterior would worry most people, Kurt quickly learned he cared a lot about the kids at the institute. Kurt quickly looked to Logan as an uncle, going out of his way to pester the man for laughs.
Scott Summers: Scott was the first friend Kurt ever had, who quickly became his best friend. Their close bond led Kurt to thinking of Scott as an older brother, often turning to him for advice or experience when handling school for the first time.
Occupation:
Formerly Student
Abilities:
Teleportation: Affectionately nicknamed "Bamfing" by his friends, Kurt has the ability to teleport from one point to another virtually instantaneously in a puff of smoke and a bamf sound. He has been shown to be able to teleport distances of up to two miles (3 km) under optimal conditions, although this is usually his extreme limit, and he can become severely fatigued if he tries to teleport that distance.
Spacial Awareness: He possesses a limited unconscious extrasensory "spatial awareness" ability which prevents him from teleporting into solid objects within his immediate vicinity, but this ability diminishes the greater the distance he teleports.
Prehensile Tail: Nightcrawler has a prehensile tail, allowing him to grab onto objects with relative ease. His tail is strong enough to not only support his body weight, but also lift an adult man completely off the ground at the same time, and is deft enough to fight with while holding a sword or blunt object.
Kurt also possesses extreme agility far surpassing even that of Olympic gymnasts and a flexibility that would make even the most impressive contortionists jealous. His hands and feet allow for him to climb on almost any surface.
His body is covered in a light layer of short, blue fur that blends easily into shadows, making camouflage extraordinarily easy for him, especially at night. His eyes give him excellent night vision.
Weaknesses:
Kurt's appearance is extraordinarily demonic and frightening at first glance, because of his physical mutations he is unable to travel safely in public without being completely covered or wearing an image inducer watch, which allows him to look like a normal person.
Excessive teleportation, or teleportation with 2 or more "passengers" can wear him out to the point of exhaustion.
His Spacial awareness does weaken the further he tries to go, and teleporting to unknown locations can prove deadly. Were Kurt to Teleport into a room he'd never been in, he could potentially reappear within a solid object or wall, likely causing severe injury or even death.
His bamf's themselves cause a sound, the sight of the smoke, and a smell of sulfur behind when he reappears. Were someone able to detect these, his element of surprise could be diminished.
While he is fast and flexible, Kurt is not the strongest of the X-men, and fighting someone stronger than him could prove very dangerous should the person be reasonably clever as well.
Personality:
While Kurt is a happy person in general, he wasn't always like that. Before coming to the Mansion, Kurt was a sheltered boy who didn't know much about the world, he found out when he was a teen and it quickly changed how he looked at everything.
While generally very trusting, Kurt is terrified of people finding out what he really looks like. He keeps his arms and lets covered in longer clothing, so people cant accidentally feel his fur. He has a tendancy of holding his hands in his pockets, so people cant touch and feel the difference in his hands.
He suffers from real fears of abandonment, significantly worsened by the disbanding of Xavier's. He feels outcast in a society that doesn't understand him, alone, and homesick for Germany.
Likes:
Old movies specifically Errol Flynn movies, Pranks, cars, burgers
Dislikes:
Excessive training, being alone, people being afraid of him, not being taken seriously
Appearance:
Bio:
Born in Germany, Kurt for a long time didn't know where he came from. Kurt was found by Mr. and Mrs. Wagner in a river. Despite his appearance they took him in and raised him as their son, believing he was God's answer to their prayers for a child of their own.
Raised in a loving and supportive family environment, Kurt was kept in the home for most of his life, not being allowed outside to play or anything if there was a chance of him being seen.
When he was 13 he snuck out, covered in a cloak in hopes of seeing the town he grew up near but having never been allowed to see. He happily wandered around the town, unobservant of the looks he'd begun to gather. It all seemed to be going rather well until an accidental bump into someone allowed them to see his face and golden eyes. Screams filled the streets quickly and before he knew it he was attacked, people yelling and screaming, calling him a demon and throwing rocks. Large men grabbed him and a pyre was built in the village square. Someone must have ran to the nearby church as a priest had come rushing, shouting prayers and damning him to hell as they tied him to the post and lit a fire.
He screamed for help, called for his parents, begged to be let go, but no one would listen. Not to him, not to his parents who were begging for him to be let go. He remembered the heat and the terror and suddenly he felt a pull, and slamming onto the ground. Opening his eyes he found he wasn't on the pyre anymore, but down the street. Not questioning his fortune he darted, and the mob followed quickly after. A few more unexplained reappearances and he found himself exhausted huddled in an alley, the mob bearing down on him.
Suddenly it stopped, and a man in a wheelchair promised to help him, to take him somewhere safe, where he would be accepted.
It hadn't taken his parents much convincing, them only wanting him safe. Soon he arrived in America, where he lived at the mansion and learned to hone his abilities and made friends.
After an explosion destroyed the mansion, and his closest friends left. Kurt found himself suddenly longing for home, and set off to try and find his way back, despite his young age.
