Occupation:
Wayne Enterprises CEO
Abilities:
Genius-Level Intellect
Being the "World's Greatest Detective" isn't a title one simply falls into. Through both higher tutoring in his youth along with further conditioning and studies in the later years of his life, Bruce became a master of strategic planning, technological design and construction, and has a wealth of knowledge regarding human psychology. All these come into play regularly, in dealing with mentally unsound criminals and constructing tools necessary to deal with their ilk. On top of that, he manages to make virtually all of them bat-themed without any loss of practicality; that is something to applaud.
Peak Human Conditioning
Since his youth, Bruce trained extensively to hone his body as much as physically possible, and continues to do so to this day. As a result, not only is Batman a master of multiple martial art forms, but he is an Olympic-class athlete, able to engage in rigorous physical activities for hours at a time without need to pause or break from it, and has been shown to be able to easily lift his own or sometimes slightly above his own body weight. On top of that, his acrobatics are second to only a select few, which he is most seen making use of when leaping from rooftops or gliding vast distances via cape.
Weaknesses:
Well...Batman is the straight man in a world full of OP looneys. In fact, from start to finish, one could say he along with the "Bat Family" are the absolutely only heroes without so much as a single superpower to speak of. And when you're stuck going up against the likes of Solomon Grundy or Mr. Freeze, even the slightest bit of super strength would make an entire world of difference. Really, his are usually "David and Goliath" battles, Bruce the unpowered everyman against incredibly strong maniacs with legions of mooks at their disposal.
Second, and this is a biggy--the argument could be made that Batman, himself, is insane. As Joker put it best, "one bad day" is what usually separates good, sane individuals from lunacy, and Bruce had "one bad day" that led to him dressing up like a bat and jumping from rooftops in his adulthood. If that isn't enough, the future Bruce Wayne that acts as mentor to terry showed us that, in his mind, he calls himself Batman, not Bruce. Having said that, thankfully, he can operate pretty well in society regardless (he's managed to keep his company, after all) but even so, a reminder of his parents' deaths can sometimes make him a bit...violent...
Personality:
Bruce Wayne makes his bed as a charmer and a businessman. Very much contradicting his no-nonsense demeanor as a certain bat-themed fellow, he tends to pay visit to many a gala or ball as a smooth-talker who excels in the occasional one-liner and radiates amiability...but he doesn't really care about the parties, per say. It's just, Wayne Enterprises is Bruce's medium to help Gotham, it needs the money to keep open, and the way to get the money is to know the right people. Still, even if he doesn't care about the parties too much themselves, his interactions with other people are rarely ever falsified--he'll be friendly to good people, and he'll show scorn to known criminals or dishonest types.
Then there's the other guy, the Batman. Batman is not forgiving, Batman is not your buddy, Batman doesn't joke, take chances or cut corners. Under the mask, Bruce does his best to become the thing that a lawbreaker fears most, and goodness, does he do a good job. Between dangling people off the edges of roofs for information, cornering guys in dark alleys with nobody else around and so on, it's no reason why many would accuse him of being crazy or being a villianous sort, himself. However, having said that, Batman is not ruthless. He has standards, and he will always stick to them. Batman will never take a life, period, even from his greatest enemies, and if they end up dead, it sticks with him a while no matter how they may have wronged him. beyond that, he will absolutely always do what is necessary, but never take that step too far. He won't kick a man when he's down or break his leg to make sure he doesn't go anywhere, he'll just hope they're smart enough to stay down and just stop them again if they get back up.

Bio:
Little Bruce Wayne, born to Dr. Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne, enjoyed a generally generous childhood, filled with the luxuries and activities that are typically entailed when you're born into a family of great wealth. At the time, his father had dedicated his life to the betterment of Gotham City, which had been overrun with organized crime and gripped by fear for years. However, as they say, no good deed goes unpunished, and the Waynes had done many, many good deeds. One night, as they left a theater showing through a back alley, the Wayne family was cornered by a money-starved mugger with a gun in hand. Wealth being of no concern when compared to his family's safety, Thomas made to grab his wallet, but the mugger panicked and went for Martha's necklace. Of course, Mr. Wayne did not want his wife to have to make any sacrifice, so he made to stop him.
Bang. Bang.
Two gunshots later, Thomas and Martha Wayne lie dead in the alley, the mugger running as fast as he can once the reality of his crime set in. And there lie little Bruce, terrified and traumatized amongst the blood and dead bodies of his parents, having seen the whole thing firsthand--made an orphan in an instant because of one man's greed. And so, Bruce was raised by their butler, Alfred Pennysworth, who became very much a father figure to Bruce. However, the incident of that night never left Bruce's mind. As he trained his body and mind while the years flew by, a goal that never left his mind was to, one day, carry on his parents' dream--to somehow, some way continue their dream of liberating Gotham from scheming criminal scum. At last, one night, a robbery took place at a chemical plant, staged by three men one of which who wore a strange red hood; and out of the shadows came a man in a dark cowl and cape, who made quick work of the three, sending the man in the hood over the railing into the contaminated waters. The crime was minor, but the massage was the same: there was a new power in Gotham whose aim was to stamp out injustice, a kind of "Batman". Little did they know when the costume came off, Bruce Wayne within was resuming his civilian life.
And so it has been since then, Batman has been a constant deliverer of justice in Gotham. "The mask isn't just to protect those in my personal life," Bruce will tell anyone who knows who he is, "it's a symbol--the Batman could be anyone". He isn't alone, either. Throughout the years, Bruce has brought on a number of sidekicks. His first, Richard "Dick" Grayson, took the name of "Robin", fighting alongside Bruce for quite some time before he went on to college, after which he decided to move on and establish himself as "Nightwing". Barbara Gordon, daughter of friend James Gordon, next took the role of "Batgirl", offering a unique approach to the role of the caped crusader.
There was a second Robin, Jason Todd, who was a bit mouthy and cocky, but his heart was in the right place. ...But, thanks to the maniacal madman known simply as The Joker, his heart ended up in several places along with the rest of him, after Joker beat him within an inch of his life with a crowbar before destroying the building via explosives. Following Jason's bizarre return to life, Batman found it incredibly hard to trust himself with a sidekick further and, as a result, grew somewhat distant from Barbara.
...But that eventually faded when Tim Drake came along. Showing excellent promise, the boy was taken under Bruce's wing as the third Robin, who continues fighting alongside Batman to this day. As a result of this influence, Batman opened up to receiving aid once more, and isn't afraid to call on the newest Robin or Batgirl when the need arises.
As Bruce continues fighting for justice, with the incredibly massive Rogue's Gallery he's amassed, really one stands out the most, that being the aforementioned Joker. Ignoring the murder of Jason Todd, on one attempt to drive Commissioner Gordon insane, Bruce got a peek into the clown's mind and discovered the Joker might have become the monster he is thanks to having "one bad day", something that led to the creation of Batman as well. The concept unnerves him, as he recognizes the only thing keeping perhaps the most dangerous man in Gotham from redemption is his dedication to his own insanity, which just so happens to stem from a similar cause of his own secondary life...
Anything else?
This Batman mixes certain comic elements with the DCAU in order to keep some compatibility to the Marvel Universe. I just hope the forming of the Justice League doesn't get, well...odd. ^^;;
Oh! As for as Bruce Wayne, primary inspiration came from the Nolan trilogy. What can I say? Those guys made the eccentric black-haired billionaire believable beyond just being Batman's secret identity the most for me.
