Ivy is a headstrong woman who is very flirtous. She cares very much for the environment, especially plants and those that can't defend themselves, which includes animals and children. She has a hatred for most humans, namely adult males for how they treat the environment and others. While she dislikes men, she can be very flirty with them, even attracted to those like Batman.

Pamela was a teenage girl passionate for the environment, hiring a thug to destroy various factories and companies. She was friends with Barbara Gordon, who tried to get her senses straight, but during a fight between Batman and the thug Pamela hired, a vat of the mutation fertilizer fell on the girl.
When she wore in an ambulance, plants came to her by her will, and she started to mutate into a plant-hybrid. Now as Poison Ivy, she became one of the prominent villains in Batman's gallery.
