While a member of the Legion of Superheroes, Brainy is not extraordinarily emotional, so he does not hold particular sentiment towards any one person. He's all about the science and history. However, due to the relationship between his ancestor Brainiac 1.0 and Superman, Brainy does hold a rather interesting fascination for the man of steel.

Brainiac 5 possesses a 12th level intellect, dwarfing the minds of those in the past and all known beings of his own time period. Given enough time, Brainy would be able to solve any mechanical, chemical, or biological problem he faced.
His brilliant intellect allows him to learn much quicker than most, having learned a style of martial arts he uses along side his many devices in battle.
He also keeps a protective field on him at all times, in the form of his belt. He must manually activate it, or know he is in danger for it to activate, so it can be tricked. His Legion ring, is created out of Nth Metal, and gives him or the wearer the ability to fly, as well as creating a small atmosphere around the wearer and acting as a short distance communicator.
Weaknesses:
Brainy is extraordinarily naive about many things, he doesn't understand emotions extremely well and tends to misunderstand people when they talk to him. He holds respect towards those who have earned it in his eyes, and has a tendency to talk down to the people around him when they don't understand what he's saying.
Brainy can easily be distracted with complex problems, and forget about exactly what he's there to do.
Without his devices, Brainy is easily overpowered and, if one can overcome his martial arts, easily defeated.
Personality:
Even tempered to the point of almost being cold, Brainy was raised to suppress his emotions. Thinking logically and coming up with solutions is what he likes doing best, though he does secretly wish he could understand the people he calls friends and teammates better.
He becomes frustrated very easily with people who don't care to understand how something works. When he trusts someone he tends to trust them completely. He holds a childlike wonder for science that tends to be one of the only things that can make him smile.
Few things can actually make him angry, however. Comparison to Brainiac 1.0 is one of the only things his teammates can name of the top of their heads, that can make him become almost vindictive in anger.

Bio:
Brainiac 5 was born and raised on the planet Colu. He grew up knowing his father died and his mother had abandoned him to be raised by the government of Colu. It was quickly discovered he was far more intelligent than all his own age, and many if not all of the Coluans older than himself. By the time he was 11, he was given the title Brainiac 5, an honored title by his people only given to the smartest alive on Colu.
This responsibility was not what he wanted and left Colu, at a much younger age than the age of adulthood in the United Planets. The age of adulthood being 14.
At age 12 he came to work for a well known company run by R.J. Brande. His intellect securing him a position in the R&D department of the company.
At the age of 13, Mr. Brande placed Brainy on his new team of Superheroes as the team's science division. The Legion Headquarters quickly became his new home and laboratory. He found he enjoyed the demanding and often time restrictive needs the team provided. By the age of fourteen, Brainy was a full member of the legion, and accompanying them on missions.
Now an anomaly has appeared in his calculations, one seemingly disrupting time and space as he knew it.
