Name(s):
Anna Marie
D'Ancanto (former surname)
Darkholme (unofficial surname)
Nicknames:
Rogue
Age:
17
Species:
human/mutant
Gender:
female
Alignment:
Good
Residence:
(formerly) Bayville, New York
Personal Relationships (Optional):
Mystique: Rogue's unofficial foster mother. These two's relation is so complex, it'll be hard to untangle. Mystique mostly uses her for many scheme, which doesn't sit well for Rogue.
X-Men
Kurt Wagner (Nightcrawler): Mystique's son, and unofficial brother of Rogue. Even though Kurt is Mystique's son, that didn't stop the two to form such a strong sibling bond.
Gambit: These two have quite an on-n-off relation...mostly off. Rogue's mostly turned off by his charms, she does give him credit for taking risks when it comes to her powers.
Wolverine: A friend who is somewhat a father-figure to her.
Scott Summers (Cyclops): A former crush, Rogue had. He was the first to accept her as an X-Men.
Jean Grey: Though a friend, Rogue used to be jealous that Scott's affections was for Jean.
Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat): Her roommate in the mansion. Kitty is the opposite of her, with her bubble personality, which annoys Rogue greatly...especially when Kitty phases in the room without knocking.
Occupation:
X-Men
Abilities:
Power Absorption: Can absorb the powers, energies, memories, knowledge, talents, personality and physical abilities (whether superhuman or not) of another human being (or members of some sentient alien races) through physical contact of her skin with the skin of the other person. She is not limited to absorbing superhuman abilities: for example, she has absorbed the strength, agility, and sharp reflexes of an enhanced human. She can also absorb psionic abilities. In absorbing another persons memories Rogue also gains the emotional responses connected to them. For the transfer of abilities to be accomplished, Rogue’s skin must contact the skin of her victim. Rogue can only absorb abilities and memories from living organic beings. She can possess the powers of several superhuman persons at once. No upper limit has yet been determined for the number of superhuman beings whose power she can maintain simultaneously, or for the amount of power that she can absorb. Rogue can even absorb gross physical characteristics from a victim. Her physical appearance does not change when she absorbs abilities and memories from a normal looking human being. The victim's abilities and memories are absorbed for a time sixty times longer than the period of time Rogue was in physical contact with that person. Those touched are rendered unconscious by contact with her, though some beings, including Juggernaut and Mojo have resisted this effect.
Weaknesses:
Her own powers is her weakness, as it is her strength. It is a curse to her, as she can't make physical contact with anyone with her skin, or she involuntarily absorb their life-force. She also will absorb their memories, which can leave sheer results to her psyche. There's a risk of a personality overwhelming her and taking control of her body, and more than one can force her to go out of control.
Another thing about her powers is that it's best on humans. While she can absorb lifeforces from other organic beings, there could be side-effects.
Also, if she absorbed too many people, throughout long periods of weeks or months, all those personalities will clash. Rogue will lose control, unleashing every power she ever took.
So unless she steals a power, Rogue is just as effective as a normal person. Sure she has some skilled fighting techniques, but she won't do much against highly powered foes.
Personality:
Once a strong willed girl with no shame in her game, the activation of her powers changed all that, especially with she accidentally put her first boyfriend in a coma. She became shy and secretive since then; forcing herself to be a loner for the safety of others. She's even afraid to do things with others, when it involves certain activities.
However, her personality can change depending on who she absorbed. She would once in a while act like the person she absorbed, but luckily, it'll go away when the power wears out.
Likes:
She enjoys southern and Cajun dinners. She doesn't get them much living in the north. She also adores Logan like a father. He helped her alot in her time of need. And her half-brother, Kurt, who always was there whenever her so-called mother messes with her heart.
And she has a crush on Scott Summers, who was the first to reach through her while she was working with Brotherhood. She's a bit shy around him, though she can easily talk to him, and even flirt, in her other personality.
Dislikes:
Her powers. Plainly, her powers. Though they had come in handy sometimes, she feels they cause more harm than good. She hates that she cannot touch without absorbing one's essence. She hates that she cannot have a romantic relationship because of it. She hates that her victims' memories and personalities clashes with her own, which sometimes, in a blue moon, she loses control. She hates her powers, period. If Rogue found a way to 'cure' herself, she'd take it.
She also can't stand perky girls, especially with valley-girl accents. She had her fill with her roommate, and she rather not deal with any more of them. And she even can't stand girls who are just too perfect, like a fairy tale princess...who she claims Jean Grey as one. Although, she could tolerate them more with her other personality, given its perky too.

Bio:
Born in the small towns in Caldecott County, Mississippi, Anna Marie was an out-going teenager, despite her dysfunctional relation with her parents. During her night-out with her childhood friend, Cody, Anna impulsively kissed Cody, at which point, her latent mutant power to absorb the life energy and psyche of others with skin-to-skin contact emerged. Cody was left in a coma from which he would not awaken. Anna was traumatized by the experience and she wore body-concealing clothing that eliminated the possibility of accidental skin contact. But after what happened with Cody, revealed her to her family and friends as a mutant. Shunned, Anna ran away from her home, adopting the nickname, Rogue.
Not long after, the X-Men detected her when her powers were awakened, and tried to approach her. But Mystique, who sought her out on the advice of her precognitive partner, Destiny, also had an eye on her. Thanks to some trickery by Mystique's shapeshifting powers, she was led to believe that the X-Men wanted to hurt her, leading her to run for Mystique. Mystique ultimately took Rogue in as a daughter. In time, however, Mystique turned Rogue's loneliness, envy, bitterness, and despair into anger, thus recruiting her into the Brotherhood of Mutants.
But during a battle between X-Men and Brotherhood, in Rogue confrontation against Cyclops, Rogue learned Mystique's true nature when she absorbed her power. Since then, she switched sides with the X-Men, becoming a valuable member, even to this day. That is until all the powers and memories she took tried to take over. Having absorbed so many different personalities, Rogue's mind had a hard time maintaining control. She started to sink into the background and the other personalities surged to the surface. Xavier was able to purge her mind of the extra personalities, but now she lives in fear of using her powers and having the same thing happen all over again.
After a mysterious explosion destroyed the mansion, Rogue left to be on her own.
