Name(s):
Frederick J. Dukes
Nicknames:
Fred, Blob, Fatso, any nickname revolving around his mass
Age:
16
Species:
Human Mutant
Gender:
Male
Alignment:
Evil
Residence:
New York
Occupation:
Part of the Brotherhood
Abilities:
Superhuman Physical Properties: As a result of his mutation, the Blob possesses strength and endurance beyond any regular human being. His elastic, blubbery skin allows him to soak up damage without even the slightest hint of pain or injury, and his weight also allows him to deliver either powerful blows, or even use himself as a projectile to destroy buildings beneath him.
Personal Gravitational Field: His actual mutant power revolves around his own center of mass; whenever he desires it, the Blob can "root" himself to the ground underneath him, which makes him virtually immoveable by any force. Exceptions include forces that far surpass him in power, or if the ground underneath him is rooted up.
Athleticism: Though not a real superpower, and though one wouldn't assume it from looking at him, the Blob isn't slow or sluggish in the least; in fact, he possesses speed and agility on par with a fairly athletic male of normal stature, which can throw off those he fights against.
Weaknesses:
Although he's practically invulnerable to direct kinetic attacks, the Blob isn't completely invincible. For instance, his face is his personal weakspot, as his mutant defenses doesn't extend to his eyes, nose, mouth and ears. He's also susceptible to psychic and sensory assaults, and concussive blasts have proven powerful enough to at least topple him. Notably, he's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shelf; being fairly simple and, for lack of a better word, kind of stupid.
Personality:
Fred Dukes is your average, stereotypical bully; big and dumb, he usually uses his build and muscle to intimidate those weaker than him, and to commit petty crimes for the Brotherhood. He's not really smart enough to make decisions for himself, so he usually takes orders from those smarter than him, if they're on his side at least. In spite of this, he can be nice when together with someone who's actually friends of his. Also, as one would expect from one of such stature, he'll eat practically anything.
Likes:
Food, the Brotherhood
Dislikes:
Being laughed at, not getting food
Appearance:
Bio:
Early in his teenage years, Fred Dukes found that he was getting a lot fatter quite rapidly, in spite of the fact that he wasn't eating that unhealthily. The problem seemed to grow day by day, until he actually began causing collateral damage due to his increased girth. Unaware of why this was happening to him, he grew bitter, and would lash out at anyone that he thought was mocking him. He was eventually approached by Professor Xavier of the X-Men, and asked to join his academy; as his increased growth was not caused naturally, but by a mutation. Initially, he wasn't interested, until he met Jean Grey. For him, it was love at first sight, and he initially accepted the offer.
However, his more abrasive personality, penchants for emptying the refrigerator at night, and the fact that Jean Grey was then seeing Scott Summers and had no interest in him, led Dukes to eventually abandon the X-Men, as he saw no point in working with them. He was then discovered by Mystique, and, as he had no home to go to, was recruited into the Brotherhood of Evil, where he got acquainted with and befriended Lance Alvers, Pietro Maximoff and Todd Tolansky. Currently, as the Brotherhood's founder, Magneto, has moved on to different pastures, the titular group has been fairly empty...
