Dinah Lance is actually the second Black Canary, the first being her mother Dinah Drake. She's a daughter by GCPD detective Larry Lance. She's got decent connections within the superhero community as she's grown up with the company of several of them. Dinah was trained personally by the old hero Wildcat, who's another father to her- though her relationship with her own biological father is perfectly fine. Her mom's retired and runs a floral shop in Gotham City; her dad's still on the force and is known as being a stand-up guy, even if he is behind a desk now.
Occupation:
She works in her mother's floral shop helping her, mostly because her mother is becoming more and more invalid, as she was poisoned by radiation in an old fight with a super villain.
Abilities:
Dinah Lance is an odd case in the fact that she has a spontaneously developing metagene that was not in her parents, giving her something called the Canary Cry.
Canary Cry- The Canary Cry is a powerful sonic attack that can rattle anyone and anything to pieces. It can change pitch to knock any being unconscious, even super-beings, but that takes a LOT of lung power. She can destroy buildings and cars and anything with it, but the bigger the thing is, the more breath, power, and concentration it takes. At close range she could probably kill someone by scrambling their brain, but that would probably be something out of her realm of comfort by far.
Martial Arts Expert- Black Canary is a superior athlete and a trained martial artist, having learned from almost every hero, and especially from the old fighter Wildcat himself. She knows TONS of techniques and moves, and would be more than happy to show you in the ring.
Riding- She, like Vigilante, is an expert motorcycle rider.
Weaknesses:
Besides the Canary Cry, she's pretty much human. The Cry can be stopped by covering her mouth, and if she uses it too much, she can be sapped of energy quickly.
Personality:
Black Canary is sexy and she knows it. She's also rather intelligent and completely fearless, which makes her a terrible hazard to herself and others. She'll go in swinging when the times dictate it, and will keep back and study a situation in others. She's probably more experienced than other superheroes her age, but only because she has her mom's experience to draw from.
Likes:
The color black, fighting crime, MMA, Gotham Rogues football, hanging out with other heroes, a stiff beer or even whisky, talking to other heroes, motorcycles, custom cars, metal, chocolate covered strawberries.
Dislikes:.
Bananas, evil, the color pink, tennis, wine and champagne, ecologically friendly vehicles, being quiet, sitting still.

She's an only child, but she grew up talking with her mother's old associates and learning to control her powers. She wasn't great shakes at school other than physical education and maybe history, but she kept going and graduated from high school- and then immediately started training to be a superhero like her mother and fight crime like her and her father. Her mother helped her learn SOME things, but she mainly leaned on the old hand to hand fighter Wildcat.
She's a frequent resource to other heroes, who often drop in on her or her mother in their floral shop in Gotham City. She's self-taught when it comes to her own power, which makes her all the more impressive.
At the moment, she's single.
(At least until someone makes the Green Arrow or someone else wants to take a crack at her.)
