Name(s):
Doreen Green
Nicknames:
The Anti-Life, The Destroyer of All That Breathes
Age:
17
Species:
Human Mutant
Gender:
Female
Alignment:
Good
Residence:
New York
Personal Relationships (Optional):
Monkey Joe: First sidekick, now deceased
Tippy-Toe: Second sidekick
Deadpool: That evil, evil man!
Occupation:
High school student
Abilities:
Enhanced Strength, Agility, Vision, Smell and Reflexes: Her mutant powers, which have given her the affinity of squirrels, has enhanced the abilities of her body beyond a normal human being, like most mutants. Being like a squirrel, she's capable of incredible feats of agility; having enough leg strength to leap across buildings, and being able to react to danger much like a squirrel would. She's also capable of looking in the dark, and has an enhanced sense of smell, much like a squirrel.
Razor-Sharp Claws: While being able to use for self-defense, Squirrel Girl's claws are generally meant for one thing; for her to scale structures a lot more easily, climbing up them as if she were a squirrel (which, to be fair, she is).
Retractable Knuckle Spikes: Much like a certain other mutant, Squirrel Girl possesses a set of 2-3 inches long knuckle spikes she can protrude from her skin in order to fight in close-quarters combat with.
Hardened Teeth: If necessary, her teeth are strong enough to chew through wood, though she generally doesn't tend to utilize this. Splinters in ones gums is not a pleasant experience, after all.
Semi-Prehensile Tail: Her tail is capable of carrying light objects, and can support her weight whilst hanging from an object for a short period of time.
Squirrel Communication: She has the innate ability to talk to squirrels, and understands their language fluently. She insists that this is not a kind of telepathy.
Utility Belt: She carries with her a utility belt with numerous pouches, which contain... nuts. Nuts of all sorts, whether it's for nourishment, or just to give to squirrels for snacks.
Flavored Lips: Somehow, her lips taste like hazelnut. Don't ask how that works.
: For some reason, unbeknownst to both her and the entire rest of the universe, with her seemingly mundane powers, she's grown to be a force to be feared by villains; particularily the greatest of crooks, most notably Doctor Victor Von Doom himself. Whether this is mainly due to her being utterly impossible to take seriously as a threat, or due to some unknown factor yet to be discovered, no one can say.
Weaknesses:
Bizzarely enough, even given the unknown factor making her a threat to high-tier supervillains, Squirrel Girl seems to fear the lowest of mooks threatening to mug her. Oh, sure, she has powers beyond a crook with a gun, but defeating a nameless thug on the street seems to take twenty times the effort it would take to best someone like Doctor Doom.
One could also make the case that, since she's young, she's considerably naïve and inexperienced, and has no real grasp on what it means to be a superhero. She generally doesn't seem to mind those kinds of comments, as she just wants to do good, but that might be a show of naïvety right on her part.
Personality:
Doreen Green is just your average high school student... if, y'know, said student happened to be a mutant with squirrel powers. Overly friendly, she idolizes the superheroes roaming around the world, and yearns to be in the same league as them one day. Emotionally, aside from the loss of Monkey Joe, nothing has ever really been able to bring Squirrel Girl down, as she's virtually always smiling and being the best she can be for when the moment needs it.
Likes:
Squirrels, superheroes, Monkey Joe, Tippy-Toe, nuts
Dislikes:
Supervillains, nameless thugs, missing an assignment deadline, that evil, evil man!
Appearance:
Bio:
At the age of 12, young Doreen Green found herself undergoing an unnatural change; growing claws, a squirrel-like tail, and being able to communicate with squirrels. She was ostracized and bullied by her fellow classmates for her strange appearance, and she fled into the forest, where she met a load of squirrels which she befriended. From there, she took on the identity of Squirrel Girl, and sought out to use her abilities for good.
Two years later, she encountered Iron Man on patrol, and, eager to prove herself, showed him exactly what she was capable of, in hopes that he would accept her as a sidekick. Sadly, he wasn't impressed; however, before he could take his leave, one Doctor Doom showed up to subdue Iron Man, before taking him on his airship over the ocean. There, the dictator intended to kill Tony Stark and let his body sink to the bottom of the ocean; however, with some quick thinking, Squirrel Girl and her squirrel friends actually managed to overwhelm the dictator, who uttered this legendary quote:
"CONFOUND these wretched rodents! For every one I fling away, a dozen MORE vex me!"
Though impressed with this, Iron Man politely told Squirrel Girl that her young age made her unfit to be a crimefighter. Though disappointed, Doreen left Stark on good terms, and decided to return home. She eventually moved with her family to New York City, where she's taken up classes at the nearest school. However, three years after her confrontation with Doom, she's decided to try to give the superhero gig another try; hoping that she could be recognized by someone like Iron Man again.
Anything else? (Optional)
To any villains out there, three words of advice: BEWARE. SHE COMES.
