One thing to take note of regarding the Shredder is his cunning, strength and tenacity; able to lead the Foot Clan with strategic finesse whilst also being a force of nature on the field of battle. Augmented by his intimidating armor and his clawed gauntlets, he couples them with his innate athleticism and mastery of ninjutsu to dominate his enemies. He is also a foe who, in spite of being on the verge of death numerous times, will not cease drawing breath before his goal is accomplished.
Weaknesses:
His primary weakness would be his own pride; rarely would he admit that a failure may be on him, which would lead to him making some rash decisions in order to cover up his pride. As cold as he may appear, there is virtually nothing that can quell his anger if his patience is tried, and make no mistake; he will slaughter anyone who tries to make a fool out of him.
Personality:
Cold, ruthless and domineering; words that perfectly fit the Shredder. If there's one thing you could say that he is, it's that he's focused; if he has a goal in mind, he will not stop for anything until his goal is accomplished, even death itself. He shows no compassion for any living being (well, with the possible exception of some individuals), and will not hesitate in outright slaughtering anyone who crosses him. Truly, he's a being you wouldn't want to cross.

15 years ago, Oroku Saki and Hamato Yoshi were what you could consider comrades back in Japan; studying ninjutsu in the same dojo, and enjoying the company of the other. However, a woman named Tang Shen created a rift between the two, as both men were in love with her, but her love was spared only for Yoshi. Furious, Saki challenged Yoshi for Shen's love, and the two had a furious battle. The fight ended in tragedy; though Saki was engulfed in a fire that consumed their field of battle, Shen was killed as well,possibly along with her and Yoshi's infant daughter, Miwa.
Saki emerged from the flaming wreckage scarred beyond recognition, and cursed Yoshi for the death of Shen, even as he thought he had perished in the fire along with his love. He retreated back to his clan, and branded himself with a terrifying suit of armor, which earned him the nickname of "Shredder" among his subordinates. Years and years went by, when one day, Saki received a report from his overseas contacts; having discovered a shuriken which carried the family emblem of Hamato Yoshi. Furious that his mortal enemy still survived, Saki ordered the Foot Clan to move straight to New York, where the shuriken had been discovered. This city would be the location for their ultimate showdown...
...though even he would certainly not be prepared for the change that had happened after these past 15 years.
