Power Armor: Much like his whips, Vanko fashioned himself a suit of armor that enhances his already impressive combat skills and defenses; giving him the ability to go up against foes like Iron Man on at least an equal standing.
Athletic Skills: Notably, Vanko has trained himself extensively in hand-to-hand combat and athletic events, to enhance his body to the fullest; this way, if by some circumstance his whips and armor should be compromised, he'd still be able to evade and dish out damage against his foes.
Weaknesses:
The most notable weakness Vanko has is his hatred for Tony Stark; his mind consumed with revenge, he has trained his mind to focus on that, and only that; to the point that he'd forgo the opportunity to use his extensive technological knowledge to earn a profit or do something else with his life.
Personality:
Vanko is a very serious mind; remaining stone-faced and cold in even the most tense situations. To him, nothing but his own personal mission matters, so when anyone talks to him, he may seem distant and even disinterested in others around him. However, this doesn't mean that he's a mindless brute; he's sophisticated and intellectual, and even takes a certain kind of joy in messing with people by only speaking in Russian and broken English, when he's fully capable of talking in fluent English. He is also quite friendly if you take care not to get on his bad side, but in the end, all he cares for is revenge; meaning that if an opportunity presents itself, he will take advantage of anyone who tries using his intellect for themselves.

From youth, Vanko was raised by a father who, for a long period of time, had a penchant for drinking copious amounts of alcohol, and for a very good reason; this man, Anton Vanko, who was given the nickname “Crimson Dynamo” during his time as an American physicist, was a former partner of the American scientist Howard Stark, and together they worked on a number of inventions, including the infamous arc reactor. However, while Howard saw the arc reactor as a means of supplying energy to the people, Anton only saw it as a means to earn a lot of money very quickly due to the arms race going on at that time. After a series of disagreements, Anton was eventually deported back to Russia, while Howard took the majority of the credit for the arc reactor's creation.
There, Anton spent his days getting drunk, while his son, Ivan, had to work to make the ends meet; ending in a prison period of 15 years after he was caught selling Russian technology to Pakistan. Unfortunately, only a few days after he was released from prison, his father suffered a relapse from a terminal illness, and as they had virtually no money to pay for the hospital bills, Ivan lost his father. Enraged and bitter that his family's legacy had been tarnished for so long due to the Stark family, Vanko took blueprints that his father had left behind, and fashioned himself whips, armor and a miniaturized arc reactor to power them with, all for one purpose; destroy the life of the son of the man who in turn had destroyed his father's life, Tony Stark.
