Name(s):
Joseph Lorenzini
Nicknames:
Hammerhead
Age:
40s
Species:
Human
Gender:
Male
Alignment:
Evil
Residence:
New York
Occupation:
Gangster
Abilities:
Steel-Plated Skull: After a mob incident left Hammerhead hospitalized, his skull had been heavily fractured; so to make him a more viable threat, his skull was reinforced with steel; making his head more deformed in exchange for an unbreakable skull that could shatter through solid rock.
Increased Strength: In addition to his hardened skull, Hammerhead is a formidable hand-to-hand combatant; employing his combat training in utterly brutal ways to decimate his opponents. His most dangerous tactic is a simple one; charging at his foes to pin them and crush them with his steel skull. He also employs brass knuckles for added hurt.
Expert Marksman: Being a trained assassin, Hammerhead is an expert when it comes to firearms; his favorite weapon being, fittingly enough, the Thompson submachine gun, or as it's more famously known as, the Tommy gun.
Criminal Organization: Taking cues from some of history's most well-known gangsters, Hammerhead is very proficient in organizing, concealing and managing criminal enterprises; having done most of the dirty work for figures like Tombstone in the past, and even having the ability to be a sufficient leader on his own, provided that he has the funds for it.
Weaknesses:
Now, while he's capable of being a sufficient gangster leader on his own, Hammerhead is generally not used to having that much control all at once; usually leading to him making some poor decisions. In addition, if he's working for someone, he generally has to take the heat for when something goes horribly wrong, even if said wrongdoing wasn't directly caused by him.
Personality:
Modeling himself after the gangsters of the 1920s, Hammerhead has the surface look of a hot-headed, beligerent crook who wouldn't hesitate to whip out his Tommy gun to mow down anyone who dares to get on his wrong side. However, he's a lot more level-headed than appearences give him credit for; having worked for the likes of Tombstone in the past, he generally acts calmly and intelligently in order to deal with whatever task he's been presented with; actually giving him a rather cold attitude when dealing with subordinates. Additionally, unbeknownst to most others, he's always looking for a way to climb up the ranks in order to usurp power.
Likes:
Organized crime, 1920's mobsters
Dislikes:
Spider-Man, Tombstone, basically any competition
Appearance:
Bio:
Having migrated to America from Russia when he was a child, Joseph always dreamt of joining the mafia; which, when he grew older, he got the chance to. Initially working as a hit-man, he slowly rose in rank due to his excellent performance in the field and his utter obedience. One night, however, a doctor found him bleeding out in an alley; possibly because of a rivaling gang intending to be rid of the upstart gangster. From there, the doctor reinforced his skull with steel; saving his life, though imprinting the image of Al Capone and 1920s gangsters in his mind, which forever influenced the way Hammerhead dressed and acted.
In recent years, his gang had been taken over by both Silvermane and eventually Tombstone, who he served as an enforcer to; creating the likes of Shocker, Sandman and Rhino as per the Big Man's orders. He was also the one to contact Norman Osborn to distract Spider-Man from the Big Man's activities. As time went on, however, Tombstone eventually grew sick and tired of Hammerhead's constant failings, including having created so many supervillains, an oil tanker fiasco involving Sandman, and a recent failure involving computer chips based on the Rhino. After contacting Osborn again, however, Norman decided to give Hammerhead a few ideas of his own; taking this advice, to finally usurp Tombstone of the power he possessed.
To achieve this, Hammerhead secretly arranged a meeting between Tombstone, Doctor Octopus and Silvermane. There, by attacking Silver Sable and Vulture, and pinning the blame on Tombstone, he betrayed his former boss, laughed as the crime lords fought and got themselves incarcerated, and took over the position as the Big Man... extremely briefly; his poor managment was exactly what Norman Osborn intended, as he found himself quickly cast aside while the Green Goblin took over Tombstone's criminal empire. However, after the death of Osborn, and as a certain kingpin decided to move in on the lost turf, Hammerhead saw an opportunity to rise back up in the ranks; deciding to see whether or not he could become an enforcer once more... and possibly more.
