Mt. Justice: A Hero's Fall

Diana held up a hand. "Before I go anywhere, where exactly am I? Who are you two? What is all this about?"
She tapped a foot impatiently.

[AnT]

".....oh." They forgot their manners. "Well, I'm Chloe Sullivan, and this is Batgirl. You probably were introduced by Ms. Crabby here." she said, which earned her a growl from Shiera. "You're in our secret base, which we use to guide other registered heroes, who's goal is to protect the world from evil."

"At least I seem to have been guided to the right place, thank the Fates," said Diana, smiling. Apparently she did have a sense of humor, though. "How many heroes are there?"

[AnT]

"Well there's...." Just when she was about to count, she remembered something. "Oh right! I gotta call Aquaman and Aqualad about Dakota City!" And she hurried over to the computers.

"Hey, I thought I was going with, too..." she whined.

"Where is this 'Dakota City'? What happened?" asked Diana.

[AnT]

She heard the news from broadcast media, in London. It was all over the world, after all. "A turf war caused some gas that's killing or mutating the city; turning them into monsters. I can bet rioting, theft, rapes, and such are happening there, too." Glaring at Chloe, who was busy on the computer, "And in a bullshit attempt to contain the biological threat, the federal government had SHIELD lockdown all in and out access of the city; trapping the people with all the freaks...while you guys sit here, twiddling your thumbs, no doubt..."

Glaring back at her, "The last thing we wanna do is endure what you suffered; having SHIELD on our backs. We have to help that city as discreetly as we can."

"News flash...SHIELD is on your back. You kids just don't know it yet."

"It sounds like a mess," frowned Diana, "But from what I can gather interfering would draw the ire of this group. Are they good? Or bad? If they're no good, then what are we waiting for?"

[AnT]

"It's complicated. Let's just say that they're the people's authority, and messing with them is like messing with the people we're trying to protect."

Growling in annoyance, she walked over to one of the consoles by the portals and tried to work it. Problem is that she wasn't familiar with it.

"...I can see where that would be difficult to deal with," said Diana. Remember, the Greeks were the first ones to put into place the western idea of Democracy and rule by the people, "Then how come we can't ask them if we can help instead of simply sitting here?"

[AnT]

"We're....kinda on the vigilante level," she said with a nervous smile. "I mean, we just started and-"

"SHIELD don't trust us; simple as that." carefully pressing a button, "How you work this stupid thing?"

Hopping over to the woman, she brought up an 'innocent' smile. "I'll help, if you let us help with your icy problem."

She shot a glare that just screamed 'Don't mess with me, kid'.

"We're planning on sneaking some of our members to the city to get a trace-sample of the gas. Maybe we can figure out a way to cure the gas' effects."

"...Who on the team might have the capabilities to do so?" asked Diana, already thinking in military tactics mode- how to get who she needed where and what best people to use, anyhow.

[AnT]

"The best way to get in there is by water, and we have two people more than capable of doing so." If Arthur would contact her...

"Who else is on the roster that might be free to give aid?"

[AnT]

"Me!!" she called, waving her hand, wildly.

Glancing at said girl, "Batgirl has advanced stealth training, and a mini-sub. She can hack into files, as well as recon the city to give us the layouts and the situation."

Seriously, she's not part of the team, and already she's going around like a general? Must be the 'I'll break your neck, if you don't answer' air she has. Heck, she experienced it herself.

"Who else is there available?"
Yeah, well, this is what she was literally kind of made for. The fact that Chloe was deferring to her meant something-
But she was smart enough to back up and blush.
"...Oh...My...oh dear. I didn't mean to simply walk in and take charge," she said, somewhat self-aware, at least.
