Donatello has attained a mastery Ninjutsu and stealth due to his ninja training. The mutagen coupled with his training has also given him near super human level skill, speed, agility and strength. He is also a bojutsu and kobudo master. In addition, to his ninja abilities Donatello is a talented chef. Donatello has also shown some impressive signs of physical strength when he and the other Turtles lifted a van, proving that he and the others have class 1 super human strength and can each lift as much as 1 ton. However, his greatest power is his genius-level intellect, perhaps coming from the mutation. He was stated to have an IQ of 637, and has shown mastery in various fields of science.
Weaknesses:
While he is skilled in combat, he is not as practiced as most of his brothers, due to spending more time with his interest of science. His bo staff makes up for his lack of constant training, meaning he's not as efficient in fighting without it.
Personality:
Donatello is typically the calm, logical Turtle. He is often in good terms with all his brothers and seems to be very close to Michelangelo. His favorite music is classical & classical rock, his favorite book is A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking. Donnie is described as the "brain" of the TMNT, he is fairly studious and industrious, and a reasonable "Mr. Fix-It". Donatello has a knack for inventing cool new gadgets and machines. He is considered the most reserved out of the four turtles. He would rather talk things out than fight and uses violence as a last resort.

Hamato Yoshi, after losing his family in a battle with Oroko Saki, fled to New York to escape his pain. Buying some baby turtles to tend to his loneliness, he lived, homeless, in the sewers. Until a vile of mutangen ended up into the sewers, and Yoshi and the turtles were exposed to it, mutating them. Because of being in contact with Yoshi for some time, the turtles evolved into humanoid turtles, and Yoshi into a rat, due to accidentally stepping on one.
For 15 years, Yoshi, now known as Splinter, trained them in the art of Ninjutsu and Bushido. However, Donatello found in interest in machinery. While the others were practicing, Don gathered many junk he could find in the sewers, and fixed them into furniture and supplies; including weapons.
Now at the age of 15, he and his brothers were allowed to explore the surface world. Don soon discovered a great wonder far beyond computer tech....teenaged girls...mostly a red haired girl named April O'Neil. But because of her, they got involved in dealing with strange brain aliens that kidnapped her and her father. Though Don rescued her, he failed to do the same for her father, but he vowed to her that he'll save him.
